Cryptolepis is a powerful antibiotic herb widely used in West Africa and traditional Chinese medicine. It treats various ailments, including Lyme disease, fever, malaria, and many other viral and bacterial infections. Renowned for its remarkable antibacterial and antiparasitic properties, Cryptolepis is gaining well-deserved recognition worldwide.

Cryptolepis root can be brewed as a tea, prepared in a tincture, or milled into powder / taken as a supplement.

Tea Recipe:

Ingredients:

5-10 grams of Cryptolepis Root cut
500-750 ml (2-3 cups) of filtered water
Honey (optional)

Instructions:

Place the Cryptolepis Root cut on a cutting board and hit it with a hammer or mallet until it is slightly flattened and softened. Alternatively, you can mill or grind the Cryptolepis Root cut in a blender or coffee grinder to achieve a finer consistency.

In a medium-sized pot, bring the filtered water to a boil.Add the softened or ground Cryptolepis Root cut to the boiling water. Reduce heat to a simmer and let the mixture steep for 30 minutes.

Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer, discarding the solids. Add honey to taste, if desired. Allow the tea to cool to a comfortable temperature, then drink (up to 3 cups per day).

Tincture Recipe:

Ingredients:

100 grams of Cryptolepis Root cut
300 ml of high quality alcohol, 65-70 degrees.

Instructions:

Soften the Cryptolepis Root cut by hitting it with a hammer or milling it in a blender or coffee grinder.

Place the softened Cryptolepis Root cut in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Pour the alcohol over the Cryptolepis Root cut until it is completely covered. Close the jar and shake well. Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking it every other day for the first 2 weeks. The longer you keep the root in the alkohol, the stronger the tincture will be.

Dosage:

The recommended dosage for Cryptolepis Root tincture is 1-2 tablespoons up to three times per day.
